FAQ

Why is my dot Board unresponsive?

You’ve tried to turn your board on – but nothing is happening. No flashing lights in the charging port when charging, or even when rolling motors over by hand.

If it’s been a while since you last rode your dot Board, your board may have entered ‘Sleep Mode’. That happens because a protection circuit in every lithium-ion battery monitors the voltage in the battery and its cells. When that voltage falls below a certain threshold, the battery is ‘switched-off’. This safeguard shields the battery from low voltages that aren’t appropriate for the lithium-ion cells.

There are two ways you can ‘wake up’ your dot Board:

  1. Using the Micro-USB Port on your dot Board, plug into an external power source. The external power source can be anything from a USB wall outlet, computer USB or even a power outlet in the dash of your car.
  2. You can also try a hard reset. To do this, remove all battery modules from your dot Board and wait at least two minutes before replacing them and trying again.

Either one of these two processes will ‘wake up’ your dot Board. But if you’re still experiencing issues with your dot Board, don’t hesitate to reach out to the team via our Contact Form.
